Peru 2017
In July we went on an Exodus Travel tour of Peru for 14 days with my sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Steve from the UK. There were 18 of us from five different countries and our guide, Raul from Lima. Julian and I spent a couple of days in Lima before the group arrived. We travelled by coach which allowed us to see a lot of the country but also had to contend with truck accidents and a teachers strike march which occupied the road for 4 hours! It was quite a challenging tour with altitude affecting most people to some extent and lots of long days travelling but the group was great! Peru is a fascinating country, the people very friendly and helpful and the scenery and sights stunning! Comments below.

Each hut has it's own solar panel for electricity - usually a single bulb. Cooking is done outside over open fires. We found the whole experience much more geared to tourists than a really authentic way of life. It certainly used to be but many families have motor boats and the men probably go into Puno for work. We didn't see many men. There was a lot of selling of souvenirs but the people weren't aggressive about it.
