Peru 2017
In July we went on an Exodus Travel tour of Peru for 14 days with my sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Steve from the UK. There were 18 of us from five different countries and our guide, Raul from Lima. Julian and I spent a couple of days in Lima before the group arrived. We travelled by coach which allowed us to see a lot of the country but also had to contend with truck accidents and a teachers strike march which occupied the road for 4 hours! It was quite a challenging tour with altitude affecting most people to some extent and lots of long days travelling but the group was great! Peru is a fascinating country, the people very friendly and helpful and the scenery and sights stunning! Comments below.

We visited the Santa Catalina convent in Arequipa the next morning. We were the first group so we saw and photographed the extensive buildings without other groups in the photos. The convent still has about 20 nuns living there but most of it is open to the public now, showing their way of life. The buildings are blue or ochre and were some of the loveliest we saw. The blue paint reminded me of the blue village of Chefchouen in Morocco last year.
